Tutorial: Creating Schedules and Schedule Classes

This tutorial will serve as your guide to creating, editing, and maintaining access schedules as well as schedule classes in the Limelight XE Console.

Schedules

The Schedules Tab of your Limelight XE Console is one of its most powerful and dynamic features. Using the scheduling tab, you have a linear view of all your access schedules in real-time.

Schedule Classes

Within the "Schedules Tab", there is a tab called "Schedule Classes". This is where you will find a list of default schedules classes such as:

  • Access Control
  • Automation
  • Holiday
  • Sick Leave
  • Vacation etc.

To create a new schedule class, click the “Create a New Schedule Class (+)” button below the list of current schedule classes.

A schedule class consists of the following components and allows you to further customize your dynamic access control scheduler:

  • Class Name - Chose something descriptive like "Jury Duty" or "Security AM Patrol".
  • Description - A brief description of this class, this is optional but can add more information to your schedule view.
  • Line Color - This is the outline and text color of the schedule bar in your viewer.
  • Fill Color - This is the fill color of your schedule bar. It is best to choose a lighter color than your line color for maximum contrast.
  • Schedule Class Bindings - Select which control features the schedule is assigned to like access control, and the account and procedure managers.

Once you have entered your information click the "Apply Changes" button.

Now that you have created a new schedule class, you can assign it to a new schedule or existing schedule in your master list by returning the inner "Schedules" tab.

Creating a New Schedule

To create a new schedule click the “Add New Schedule (+)” button below the linear schedule view pane.

A blank schedule form will populate below. This is where you will add the details of your new access schedule and assign it a Schedule Class.

You may customize your access schedules by limiting the days and times the schedule is active, as well as setting a time or date limit on how long the schedule will be valid.

This feature is especially useful for creating access for contractors and other individuals who do not have a regular need to access the premises. Once you set a specific date/time limit on the access schedule, there is no need to go back to the console to revoke access for that individual.

All changes to current or new schedules can be viewed in real-time in the linear schedule view pane before you commit the changes by pressing the "Apply Changes" button.

Congratulations, you have just created a new schedule! Schedules can be assigned to User Accounts, as well as set as Triggers for Procedures. For more information on assigning schedules to User Accounts or Procedures please visit these tutorials:
